Americans’ generosity is on display everywhere one looks during the COVID-19 pandemic, with one story after another on newscasts and in newspapers of people donating money, food, time or devising creative ways to support neighbors in need.

District 214 is offering two avenues for people to make financial contributions to the the community during this crisis.

214 Cares Fund

Donations to the 214 Cares Fund, established by the District 214 Education Foundation for the COVID-19 crisis, provides direct financial assistance to D214 students and families who already had financial need and now have been adversely affected by the pandemic.

Your gift to this fund will go directly to students and families in District 214, based on the guidance and recommendations of staff who know these families and their needs. These contributions may support housing needs, utility needs, basic living needs, academic needs and more.

Contributions to PPE Project

To discuss giving financially or in-kind to support materials, supplies and labor associated with the production of PPE equipment, contact Erin Holmes, Foundation Executive Director, at erin.holmes@d214.org or (847) 718-7688. We can work with individuals, companies and organizations to ensure your contribution is meaningful to you and directly impacting this work.

Donations to the District 214 Education Foundation in any capacity are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. The new CARES Act allows for up to $300 in above-the-line deductions to qualifying charities like the Foundation, meaning you may receive a deduction without itemizing.
